Frances & Joe’s Wedding Invitations: Chapter 5 — Special Delivery
The envelope designed by Frances for the invitations includes an assortment of stamps.
Like any other day, over the summer I opened my mailbox to bring in the day's post. Among the flyers, plastic-wrapped magazines and junk mail, a surprise: An emerald-green envelope with “Mr. & Mrs. Shawn Weston” handwritten in script.
They had arrived.
In the upper-right corner of the envelope was a pyramid of colorful stamps. It reminded me of the stationary that inspired me when I had started designing the invitations.
Once I got inside the house, I put the rest of the mail on the bureau and proceeded to open the envelope as carefully as I could.
Drumroll, please ...
Out of the envelope came the suite of invitations wrapped in a rawhide string.
